A new take on a favorite

Money, women, and booze. They go a long way. That would be, as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story.

Comic is an oldie but goodie from SMBC

Because everyone is talking about it.

Yep. It snowed. In half the country. It’s pretty darn miserable, maybe I should just take a day off work if I have to resort to the above coping mechanisms.

Technically it’s illegal for you to say “I bet you $10 that I can <insert entertaining task here>.”

Don’t listen!

People, people, people… Don’t listen to the words spoken by musician who uses a symbol in their name. I know the auto-tune is catchy, and the whiny voice somehow soothing (?).

But really, doing half of the stuff described in top 40 songs would end up in a slow painful death. Which I guess if you are willing to do something described in a song, maybe you have it coming.

U-G-G-L-Y

I’m thinking of transforming this website into a fashion column. Only to give it some purpose. If I could rid the world of UGG boots, the world would be a happier place.

You see, the thing I don’t understand about fashion is comfort. If, for example, I were to ask someone why they would choose to let their feet look like they have been swallowed by a sheep’s intestine (colloquially referred to as ‘uggs’), they would invariably reply, “they’re just so warm and comfortable”.

Fast forward to a formal evening with this same individual. In my example, I see the person wearing 6 inch tall high heels and am listening to them complain about the discomfort felt.

“why the high heels?” I ask, “do you value comfort?”

“they look really good, and fashion is worth the pain” they snap back.

So now I’m at a point of confusion. You will wear something comfortable that is aesthetically hideous, but will endure physical pain to wear something pleasing to the eye?

I’m confused on this topic.
