big words

I often enjoy some coagulated casein from bos primigenius. Or cheese. It’s fun to use big words, especially when you don’t have to. Like saying disambiguation instead of “clear thing up”.

Promulgation is my penultimate pastime, the only subjacent exertion involves perusing the genteel compositions of Jane Austen.

See, it’s fun.

What else is fun? Wizzlefish, that’s where this comic is from. They also have funny old pictures that they put words on… delightful.

Where it stops.

The buck stops here. I’m not sure what this saying means and Google is too far away. I’d have to sift through wikipedia entries and snopes and everything else before I actually found out what this saying means. I know what it means… but I don’t know where it came from.

If having some responsibility yourself, can you say the buck stops there? Or is buck-stopping only something that can be done ‘here’?

Comic from Savage Chickens. A fantastic “single-pane” comic. Or maybe instead of single-pane I should say “limited surface area” comic because they’re all written on sticky-notes.

Fathom it

A Trillion is a lot. Studies suggest that we can’t even begin to understand the largeness of a number such as a billion, much less a trillion.

Food for thought: a trillion seconds is 31,710 years. Almost as long as my life seems while reading victorian literature, ZING!

But really…. Graphically, here is a man standing next to one million dollars in Ben Franklin’s signature bill.

That’s a million cash, most Americans have larger amounts of abdominal fat reserves.

Here’s a trillion dollars in Hundy’s. If it were singles, the stack would be 100 times larger.

Crap.

One more interesting tidbit, Rosie O’Donnell can eat for 17 days on one trillion dollars… astounding.

It’s the truth

No one likes nickelback. I you like nickelback, you are no one. Like not even sentient. Have you seen these guys? They’re an assault on so many of the senses I can’t even begin to describe it.

The fact that every single one of their songs sounds exactly like the last has everything to do with the fact that I find them deplorable.

But whatever, if you enjoy reading badly drawn cartoons that are funny, http://www.lefthandedtoons.com/ is the place to be.

About right.

Pictures for sad children is often not funny but a tad on the creepy side. Maybe not creepy, just sad. Anyhow, I thought this was a great commentary on parenting nowadays. It’s as hands off as Amy Winehouse’s drug counselor, ZING!
