Any comic with a graph usually catches my eye. I love to see life in some sort of humorous mathematical representation. Within the past few years both Jordan and I have become uncles and our parents, of course, grandparents. And I can say with some amount of certainty this graph is accurate as far as grandchildren go.

It is just amazing how obsessed grandparents become with the little ones. My guess is that is comes from a triple dose of pride. When you have your own kids you’re proud of them not just because of what they do, but because they are yours. That’s the double dose. Then when the grandchildren come along you’re proud to show them off not just because of what they do, but because they are your kids, which are yours. So you’re proud for your kids, plus proud for the grandkid, plus proud of how awesome you are by having such kickass progeny.

Really I think it’ll be amazing to be a granddad, but I don’t see how this is going to mesh well with my plans for being a crotchety old bastard.
