Back date a comic? Never! And I love to poke fun at the media. In some small form by having a website I have joined the ranks of those who I regularly mock, but that’s ok. Self-hate is good hate.

The good in life.

One of the few small joys in pessimism is simply the act of being a Negative Nancy. Debbie Downer. Pouty Pauly. Sad Sandy. Lamenting Lori. Wailing Wally. Crying Cathy. Jaded Johnnie. Mopey Maury…. Gee… This game is kinda fun.

Oh, Canada

There may be no country better suited for serialized humor than Canada. Mainly because they always seem to take things in stride. They aren’t bothered or find it ridiculously humorous that they have mounties, a bacon that is really like ham, or a sentence suffix that is said so eloquently by Rick Moranis. eh?

Binary diets

With Terminator: Salvation out now, I figured it would be good to point out that sentient technology would face the same societal pressures as we feel. I mean, he just wanted to be thin! And look what happened… tisk tisk.

Really though, let’s think about this. In order for a system to operate completely autonomously, it would have to be able to formulate ideas, not just re-create data based on an algorithm. If data was eventually capable of being processed in a way that leads to these self-governing entities creating free choices which then create new data, then surely the processor would figure out that it, in no uncertain terms, is not ‘up to snuff’ with processor you see over there. Hint: next Intel processor, codenamed Paul Walker.

And since it IS Friday, how about a one frame comic to relieve the stress of reading words like sentient:

PHD (Piled Higher & Deeper) is a comic about life in grad school. It is meant to poke fun at life in grad school.

I love this comic because tracking this cycle backwards is very fun. When you read a news article that strikes you as just a bit fishy, spend a few minutes checking their sources and reading the academic articles that may have lead to the article. It’s usually pretty quick and easy to spot how they take some news and make it into News!
