Wikipedia’s Guide to the Galaxy
Kindle is one step closer to my dream. Next step is making contact lenses that can be a semi-transparent screen with wireless access to your bluetooth. Then we can walk around being incredible smart (or at least appearing so) as we quote pages of information or instant news seemingly from the top of our heads. This, unfortunately, would probably only be cool if you were the only one with the special ability, otherwise you wouldn’t be impressing the ladies (of course if I think that quoting pages of information and the news impresses the ladies, then I might have actually stumbled onto my problem in said area). We’d also need a reliable Wikipedia, uneditable by trolls and written without bias but still containing the diverse information of Wikipedia… That might actually be a lot harder than getting a computer into your brain. But Kindle really is quite clever, but the buttons being on the side seem a little cumbersome. You want to be able to get cozy with a book, but you can’t do that with a Kindle because if you move your hands too much, you might end up on the next page.
And if you haven’t read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy… Well you need to get on that. It’s so witty it makes you feel witty just for reading it.
